When you get a 41 on your dressage test and yet you feel like you won an Olympic Gold!

This happens to be the greatest test of all time, at least for the Little Red Corvette (as my trainer calls her) and me.

We went to the South Farm Horse Trials (second recognized event for us!) and had the most tremendous, amazing, blessedly composed, totally awesome, SUPER DUPER FANTASTIC dressage test. For reference, this is BN Test A.

Prepare to be bored out of your minds.

And that is exactly why it is the most amazing test ever. Snore, boring!

We were (unrequestedly) stalled around the corner and not next to her BFF 4-LIFE Joey - she did end up with another boyfriend (he came in 2nd in Prelim, so... you go girl!) but they were not tied to the hip like with Joey.

Temperature wise, it was 95F with 98% humidity but had a nice breeze on the hills, so it wasn't melt-your-face-horrible at the arenas and during xc.

I hacked her around about 2 hours before her test (w/t) and then pulled her out of her stall about 30min before her test to warm up.

So - stabling + temperature + two warm-ups = happy dappy Dassah.

Needless to say, she got stuffed full of carrots after that test.

We pulled a rail in stadium the next day (sigh) but whatever, no time faults and went double clear on xc. (The footing was pretty bad in areas so they ran both on Sunday to give the footing more time to dry out).

Dressage Test - BN-A - Score of 41
Show Jumping- 4 jumping faults, 0 time.
XC - double clear

Logging the xc fences just so I can remember them.

Fence 1 - Log
Fence 2 - Hogsback
Fence 3 - rolltop
Fence 4 - cabin
Fence 5 - pheasant feeder
Fence 6 - hogsback
Fence 7 - table
Fence 8 - little up-bank with quick turn to fence 9
Fence 9 - rolltop
Fence 10 - table
Fence 11 - ramp
Fence 12 - table
Fence 13 - bench
Fence 14 - into water
Fence 14b - rolltop 3 strides out
Fence 15 - stone wall with flowers on top
Fence 16 - another stone wall with flowers on top
Fence 17 - open-slatted-bench.

Everything ran super- she looked a bit at the cabin but we had schooled that in warm-up so once she locked on she was great and the pheasant feeder was a little sketchy due to the footing but everything else was taken like she had wings.

She hates cold baths but after xc she stood like a rock in the wash-rack and looked like she was diggin' it big time. .

That evening, as soon as we got home from Dante's Inferno, I stopped at the grocery and bought ice cream, tortilla chips, and wine for dinner. #DinnerofChampions

So, a 41 in dressage might make most people faint in shock but I couldn't care less about the score. It was a beautiful (for us) dressage test and makes me the proudest of people. My girl is growing up!
