Or at least my version of one!

A couple weekends ago a good friend and Dassah's 2nd trainer (whom I LOVE so much) came up from Florida. She stopped by for a mini-lesson and to see Dassah for the first time in 3 years.

I was a little worried that she would think we hadn't progressed but no worries, she thought we were doing great! She also took pictures for me! So for the first time since last summer I actually have pictures of me on my pony!!

The first crappy/boring/admittedly horrible pics are from a trail ride I went on with friends earlier in the day. We had a great time.

Schooling pics!! You can tell we need work on impulsion - the two trotting pics show just how strung out she can get. You can see from the last pic though that hind leg getting under her.

Next up is schooling our xc course this week and then a Hunt Club benefit show at a nearby XC facility. They host a hunter pace now and then and have an amazing cross country course. We're going to do an over-fences class and then a carrot race. Afterwards we're going xc schooling with Katy Groesbeck. Woot woot.

    1. So a carrot race is where you ride your horse to one end of the arena, hop off, grab a carrot, and lure your horse to the other end without grabbing a rein. Quickest one wins. My mare's dam won one of those races during a 4-H show. I hopped off, grabbed a carrot, shoved it in her face and then went sprinting back to the gate. She cantered with me to the end and we won it in something like 11 seconds. Everyone else took at least a minute. :) It's super fun.
