Zen Baby Horse Blog - Fail Hop
So this is fun! ZBH is hosting a blog hop centered on fails with your horse.
Oh fails. Dassah and I daily participate in. We gravitate to them. Do we want to fail all the time? No. But every ride is peppered with them.
That being said, as I don't have a paparazzo following me around to document fails or successes, I have limited proof (unless you read this blog regularly).
I decided to expand upon the idea of fails with your horse and included horse fails, dog fails, cat fails, me fails, etc. You get the point. The rationale is that I take plenty of pictures and can capture the fails of my animals (and sometimes Michael gets fails of me too). So there are more pictures out of the saddle than in.
Let us proceed (these are in no chronological order):

Fail: Dassah
Because: SO MUCH MUD.
Fail: Me
Because: trying to capture artistic image of Dassah's eye. Annie Liebovitz I am not.
Fail: Dassah
Because: Hates to get her head wet when bathing
Fail: JumboTron at Columbus Crew
Because: It caught on fire right before the game
Fail: Me
Because: I didn't read the parking sign
Fail: Me
Because: I adopted a puma, not a little kitty
Fail: I think all parties share responsibility
Because: Ollie's first day alone after adoption
Fail: Curtains
Because: Ollie couldn't see out of them
Fail: Michael & Sarah
Because: Duh, Ollie doesn't like sleeping bags
Fail: Me
Because: I ripped off the mantel and then didn't put it back on for a year. And grain, because Ollie is allergic to grain.
Fail: Trashcan/Us
Because: No locking lid.
Fail: Me
Because: I cannot take good pictures
Fail: This one's on you mare
Because: Just because
Fail: No Fail
Because: This picture just cracks me up.
Fail: Me
Because: I like to stand in my stirrups apparently and balance on my reins. Sorry horse. (fixing!!)
Fail: Me
Because: I love my legs to fly behind and what release?. Wheeeeee! (sorry horse)
Fail: Us
Because: We cannot picture well I cannot picture well.
I hate to call this a fail because she's just expressing herself. So it's not a fail, it's just.....uncommon.
Fail: Me
Because: Dassah says so.
Fail: Us
Because: We cannot selfie
Hahaha love this! I have so many failed horse selfies, those are probably my only fails that I have photographic evidence of haha :)
ReplyDeleteFailed selfies are hilarious!
DeleteLOL this was awesome!! My kitty found a box of opened but clean kitty litter, dumped MOST of it out in the garage, and now can be found sleeping in his new sand pile on the reg. He doesn't poop in it, just moves it around to his convenience. Thanks for participating!!
ReplyDeleteBah hah! Kitty wants what the kitty wants. It's actually probably a kitty's dream to have such a customizable bed! You should get pics!
DeleteBut your fails are all so whimsical. Mine are like... not.

DeleteI've only got whimsical ones because I can't find photos of me on my horse. :( No one is ever around to take pictures and document our growth. I would love to see the fails and have some proof that we actually do things and get to fail at them.
DeleteNo one was around or videotaping when she spooked at some weeds and dumped me (I forget how many times) or when we deer hopped over a tiny vertical, or the millions of times she makes mare face at me, or the many times I can't balance and lose my left stirrup. Or when she flips her head and dodges out evilly, or the time I didn't tighten my girth and ended up almost sideways in the rain, in a warm up ring, at our last show. Or when the brush jump was too scary and she just couldn't even! Or the many, many (so embarrassingly many) times she carried me over a fence even though I was perched on her neck and giving her plenty of opportunity to stop.
OH - big fail remembered! It was my second season of dressage schooling shows and had been about a year inbetween shows. I trotted up centerline and promptly forgot how to dressage salute. So I army saluted. both times. big ol hand-to-the-brow-and-out salute.
I would love more fail photos because at least we can show that we're actually doing something and sometimes, we might even be getting better at it.
I love your fail photos because the help me realize the difficulty is real and we're all in this just trying our damndest best
Loved this! These are hilarious Sarah!
ReplyDeleteIt's so good not to take ourselves seriously. :)
Deletelol it's not a 'fail' it's a 'tail!' haha but seriously this is hilarious. that one of her standing in the rain looking chagrined is too funny!
ReplyDelete:) She was such a snot that day. I wanted to ride and she WOULD NOT come in to her stall.
DeleteHahahahaah! This cracked me up. And oh man, the mud pits of Auchmeddan gave me flash backs.
ReplyDeleteI do miss those run-ins though. :( But the mud. OH the mud!
Deletehehehe i love these!! adorable photos even for "fails"
ReplyDeletehah. thanks. I'm going to have to get my mom to dig out some really good fails from junior high and high school. :)
